Rawalpindi, Inner City

These photograhps were taken on a single day in a monsoon afternoon this year. Rain had subsided and there was work to do in the overly busy city center. In retrospect, it is strange to see such tranquility in the snapshots which were environmentally overwhelmed with a great deal of ambient bustle. Fortunately, a stills camera does not capture auditory signals, and plainly speaking, it should not be assumed that it is an unreal depiction of how the sights appeared instantaneously: everywhere, it was very easy to spot some individual trying to make his way through the din and the daily round. It is surely a subjective observation, but it is not entirely false.
